Why this should be read: Daniel is smart and capable, in both languages and military stuff. Ferretti is cool, as are the rest of his team, and Sam and Teal'c. There is humour and friendship and some plot as well. It's basically a collection of missing scenes and ep tags from seasons 3 and 4, all linked together to make a story that fits in with canon and explains the bits the show glosses over. Daniel demonstrates that he is actually good at his job, and it isn't just lucky flukes, yet the fic still refrains from going overboard and making him flawless.

Ferretti was looking amused again. "And here, people, we have the real reason why O'Neill bitches about loaning Daniel out. He's afraid if we find out how damned useful he is, we won't give him back."
