Why this should be read:

This is Daniel's side of Abyss.  It's a well-written and intense look at what it would be like to be Ascended, how it would change how you see the world ... and what it would be like to have that and have to watch your best friend be tortured.  There is no dialogue.  We see nothing of Jack's POV.  But it's a painfully good look at the inside of Daniel's head in a horrible time.
