Visiting Hours, by Teand (G)
Title: Visiting Hours
Author's LJ/DWJ:
teand /
teand
Categories: friendship, humor, season 9-10, team
Warnings: Unexplicit pre-fic violence and injury
Author's Webpage/Fic list: Fanfiction Index
Link to story: Visiting Hours (DWth) | Visiting Hours (LJ)
Why this should be read:
After being hit with a staff blast and healed by Vala with a purloined hand device, Cam is held for observation and tests in the same room of the same hospital where he recuperated after Antarctica, and the rest of the team pitches in -- each in her or his own delightfully in-character way -- to make his stay bearable. Fabulous Cam point of view, smart and entertaining dialogue, and outstanding, 100% sap-free team friendship. About 4600 words.

Snippet of fic:
They were arguing about tel'tak maneuverability -- "Give it up, Jackson. It's the space ship equivalent of mini van!" -- when a competent looking, middle-aged nurse appeared.
"I'm afraid you'll have to leave now, Dr. Jackson." She shook her head at the uneaten hospital lunch but whether at it being uneaten or at the lunch itself, it was hard to tell. "Colonel Mitchell has an MRI scheduled."
"She knows you're not a real doctor, right?" Cam asked as Daniel shoved the last of the debris into his backpack.
"Dr. Jackson's a frequent flyer here at the 21st," the nurse answered before Daniel could. "You were here at the same time for a while, but I don't think you were working together then."
"I don't think you're supposed to know about that," Cam pointed out as Daniel's brows rose.
She snorted, and rolled the wheel chair up beside the bed. "It all comes out in the bedpans, sir."
"I don't even want to know what that means," Cam muttered.
