Why This Must Be Read: JD treats us to a glimpse of teamy goodness and solid Teal'c and Daniel friendship, as SG-1 sits down to Chinese takeout and the conversation turns to the origins of General Tso's chicken. There is deft characterization and wry observations, and a final exchange between Teal'c and Daniel that puts their hopes for the future into truly unique perspective.

Jaffa spicing habits, fortune cookies, teamy goodness, Teal'c and Daniel friendship: a delightful recipe under any circumstances!

"I see. Then he invented the dish that bears his name?"

Daniel's mouth fell open for a moment. "Um, ah, I don't think there's anything to indicate that he ever encountered the dish, Teal'c. The origins are basically lost in history. Someone after his death just likely named it after him, as an homage or memorial."

Teal'c looked down at his half-eaten dish. "I see."

Jack spoke in dry tones, twirling his fork in the air. "Someday you must ask Daniel to relate to you the legend of that inspirational American leader, Colonel Sanders."

"Colonel," Sam said disapprovingly.
