Why this should be read: I guess the recent meta about Jack in princessofgeeks' journal and redbyrd_sgfic's fic put me in mind of cofax's wonderful take on Jack O'Neill. This very short story is just how I would imagine the original sg-1 stranded in the past, with Jack doing his best to take care of his team.

Post-ep for Moebius. Five thousand years of history, and they're running out of time.

They could bust him down to airman if they wanted, so long as he didn't have to watch his team die of animal bite, appendicitis, or any one of the hundreds of things that were so easily treated in the twenty-first century and so fatal here. Yeah, and okay, he'd kind of like a cold Bud and his favorite sweatpants, instead of flat weak beer and a short linen skirt. Jack really hated the skirts.
