Title: When Narnia and SG-1 Collide
Author's LJ/DWJ: [personal profile] cofax7
Categories: era: pre-series, horror, theme:crossover
Warnings: crossover with Narnia
Author's Webpage/Fic list: Alchemy, Mouldiwarps, and Coprophagy
Link to story: When Narnia and SG-1 Collide
Why this should be read: Cofax gives a short, sharp, horribly plausible explanation for a certain person's character assassination in the Narnia books. Oooh, this hurts. And it's good.

If any of her siblings had been there, she would have noted it on her pad and packed it carefully away; but they weren't, and so she thought, "Well, it couldn't hurt to open it and peek inside, just a little."

It did, in fact, hurt. A great deal.

... while I thank you for the rec, I suspect you've just given away the entire plot of that snippet. *g*

Heh, yes, I can see that perspective. :) A rec that details a story so that it barely needs reading isn't much good, is it? I hope you'll allow me to explain why I specifically chose to highlight that aspect, though.

In four years of reccing, I've learned to look for the "hook" to coax the reader into clicking on the link to read the fic. From what I've seen of Narnia fandom on LJ/DW (that's probably only a small part of it, of course), a lot of people out there very much like the idea of stories that acknowledge Susan's fate without blaming her or seeing her as being in need of "redemption" just because, y'know, she grows up. So saying that it's Susan, and that she's snaked, is the hook for me to tempt readers to read the ficlet and find out what happens next.

What the Goa'uld chooses to do and the reasoning behind it? That's the horrifying creepy superb twist of your fic.

...For me, anyway. :)

If it truly bothers you, I'll edit the rec. Let me know.

Eh, no worries. And you're right about the desire of most folks reading Narnia to find something to validate Susan.
