...So, remember that time back in October when we had a new theme of on the edges of canon?

We had six recs on that theme (click on the link above to read them), through March of this year, and then -- silence. My fault, I know.

So in an effort to get this rec comm going again (because I still love SG-1, as most of you do as well, and I've seen more and more references to rewatches lately), I've chosen a new theme for us: other media.

This is your opportunity to rec any kind of fanwork that's gen and related to SG-1, whether it's vids, picspam, meta, fanart, or any other kind of media that isn't actually fic.

Use common sense regarding the gen rules for the comm. Picspam for Moebius that includes the Sam/Jack kiss or a vid for Unending that includes scenes of Daniel/Vala aren't a problem, as long as they're not the focus of the fanwork; a vid that highlights every Daniel/Sha're kiss throughout the show, even though it's the pairing that's dear to my heart, shouldn't be recced here. If you've got any questions, feel free to ask.

I would also like to invite suggestions for future themes. You can see the list of past themes over here. And, of course, don't forget that any gen rec is welcome at any time, even if it's not related to the current theme.

Our new theme is the edges of canon. What happened pre-series? Post-series? In one of the canonical alt-universes/timelines? Long past time for a new theme here at sg1genrecs! This time, we're looking for stories that are set in Season Six, SG-1's stepchild season that's all-too-often neglected by writers. Fics can be episode related or not, but they should be set in S6. The fic doesn't have to be Jonas-specific if it's set in S6 -- recs about stories regarding Abyss or Changeling or Allegiance would be fine, for example. And Jonas-centric fic regarding Meridian/Fallen/Homecoming would be welcome, too.

On to plans for next month: we're going to do a repeat of our reccer's weeks, which we last did back in July 2010. During reccer's weeks, one person commits to making at least two gen recs, related to any (or no) theme, during her (or his) specific week. By signing up, you are committing yourself to reccing a minimum of two stories during that week, although more recs would certainly be welcome! Please do not volunteer if you don't think you will be able to rec two fics.

There are four week-long reccing periods available:

April 1 - 7 - claimed by yvi

April 8 - 14 - claimed by pipisafoat

April 15 - 21

April 22 - 28

Those that volunteer get their own tag, which they may continue to use even after their week is over.

Our new theme is one that is near and dear to SG-1's heart: blowing things up. :) Any gen story that focuses, or even features, the team making things go *boom* will fit this theme.
