Why This Must Be Read: Vala and Teyla, both writing reports for the same mission. We need both Teyla's cool diplomatic wording and Vala's blunt and easy manner to get the real picture of what happened, but when you put it all together, you'll find it hard to stop laughing!
Teamy goodness, snark, and just the right amount of silliness to make this an absolute delight.

Link to story: Triptych
Why this should be read: I recommend this fic to anyone who has seen Moebius, it is a really well executed story showing three of the possible alternate realities that might have been created by the events in that episode. The dialogue and character voices are all wonderful which makes the whole time travel/AU theme seem even creepier. About 4,770 words.
Matter can neither be created nor destroyed.

Why this should be read: Aside from the author's always wonderful dialogue and pitch perfect character voices, just one word - Tribbles. About 790 words.
Jack feels that the words "The good thing is ..." are always a little ominous.

Why this should be read: Gorgeous writing, perceptive Elizabeth, and Daniel using archaeological metaphors. In this lovely fic Elizabeth and Daniel talk before the Atlantis mission leaves. About 1,200 words.
If one tries to navigate unknown waters one runs the risk of shipwreck.

Link to story: Ascend the Brightest Heaven of Invention
Why this should be read: This is the first in what became an AU series, where some of the interesting minor characters from both shows are in the spotlight. The episode "Rising" is re-imagined and the new characters are shown preparing, (including off-world training), for the mission to Atlantis. I really enjoyed the mention of so many old friends, (Sarah Gardner! Catherine Langford! Ferretti!), and the friendship between Jeannie McKay and Carolyn Lam.
In 2005, Jeannie McKay prepares for the trip of a lifetime: a possibly one-way ticket to the Pegasus galaxy in search of the lost city of the Ancients. Stargate AU in which Jeannie, not Rodney, as well Sam Carter, Carolyn Lam, and many more female scientists are part of the original Atlantis expedition in "Rising".

Why this should be read: This short fic is so charming and full of convincing detail, that the characters and gate 'verse spring to life. Daniel translates Ancient poetry, Sam and Rodney argue about physics, eat hamburgers and write equations on their napkins. About 3,750 words.
Rodney. Sam. Gardening instructions. Physics. Oh, and also muggers.

Why this should be read: I found this mixture of mystery, drama, and horror enthralling and wonderfully creepy. The entire story takes place on earth after Daniel and Rodney are stranded when their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. The character voices are excellent. A subtly ominous buildup and southern gothic atmosphere are blended perfectly with the Stargate world. You don't need to be familiar with SGA to enjoy this story, in fact I think it stands up well on its own. A fun read, definitely one of my favorites (and I don't even really like Rodney McKay).

Link to story: Unfinished Business
Why this should be read: I don't follow House or SGA, but this ficlet made me laugh and laugh and laugh.
Written by the always marvelous Tallulah Rasa, Unfinished Business plunges us into the middle of a recruiting session, as SG-1, Sheppard, and McKay try to convince House to join the SGC. The dialogue is fast and furious and insanely funny, including competing death counts, gunshot wounds, and personality quirks. By the time the dust settles, you'll be wiping tears from your eyes and regretting that Tallulah Rasa has titled this Unfinished Business because it's a snippet of a larger work that she feels she will never complete. But knowing that there could have been more of this delightful story doesn't take away from how very wonderfully it stands, as is, on its own!
